The spec, in plain terms

Excavation to honest depth. A car surface needs more section than a garden path. We dig for the base the load requires, not the base that fits the quote.

Base compacted in lifts. Crushed rock placed and plate-compacted a few inches at a time. One thick loose layer “compacted” once is how driveways end up wavy by year two.

60mm-minimum vehicle-rated pavers. Thinner stock belongs on patios. Driveways get driveway block — and herringbone bond wherever tires turn, because it locks against rotation.

Restrained edges, locked joints. Concealed edge restraint keeps the field from walking; polymeric sand compacted into the joints keeps stones tight and weeds out.
